A celebration of purpose and progress: A Sense of Home’s 10th Anniversary Gala, as featured on Fox11.
We are honored to recognize Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris for their unwavering commitment to creating a world where every young person feels seen, supported, and deeply valued. Ashlyn’s personal journey through adoption and Sophia’s lifelong advocacy for equity, community, and belonging have shaped a shared belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a life rooted in love.
Together, they are redefining what family can look like. They champion the beauty of blended families, reminding us that home isn’t defined by biology or tradition, but by the people who choose one another, show up for one another, and create safety, stability, and unconditional love every single day.
Their work and their lives embody the very heart of A Sense of Home: that every young person deserves not just a roof over their head, but the dignity of belonging, the security of being loved, and the chance to imagine a brighter future.

Sophia Bush is an American actress, activist, director, and producer. She is most well-known for portraying “Brooke Davis” in the WB/CW drama series One Tree Hill, and as “Erin Lindsay” in the NBC police procedural drama series Chicago P.D. This Fall 2026, Sophia will be releasing her memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine.

The inviting atmosphere of the A Sense of Home Annual LA Gala was brought to life with the support of Voluspa, Jenni Kayne, and Ruggable. Their thoughtful contributions—from elegant candles and timeless home accents to stylish, functional rugs—helped define the look and feel of the event.
Beyond the gala, these partners also support our mission to create warm, welcoming homes and an ongoing community of care for former foster youth and individuals and families displaced by disaster.
