Design a Home, Change a Life

Kelly Wearstler launched the #DesignerChallenge for ASOH.  This activity encourages revered designers to create a custom home for an aged-out youth with ASOH. Read about it here in the LA Times.

How it Works

  • It’s easy
  • The #DesignerChallenge is available to design firms, brands, furniture vendors, and staging companies.
  • Set aside items in your inventory (or from your brand partner or client’s retired furniture) for a 1 or 2 bedroom apt (we provide a succinct check list).
  • Choose a sponsorship option to get started.

Create the Home Onsite

This exclusive experience allows you and your group to enter and meet at the homes of recipients, beautifully decorate and stage their living spaces and see their priceless reactions through an in-person reveal in only 90 minutes. Not only does it afford a “home” and an immeasurable amount of love and hope to the recipient, but a life changing experience for all involved, while offsetting the cost of the home creation for ASOH.

A Sense of Home strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care with donated furniture and home goods. 50% of those struggling with homelessness are former foster youth. The homeless crisis can only end through prevention.
