Dom Perella

Dom Perella is General Counsel at Branch Metrics Inc., a Palo-Alto-based tech company. Previously, Dom spent seven years at Snap Inc. as VP, Deputy General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer. Dom was a member of Snap’s Leadership Team, helped the company prepare for its IPO, and led a range of legal functions from litigation to IP to compliance. He helped launch Snap’s “Citizen Snap” ESG report and contributed to the company’s diversity and environmental initiatives.

Prior to his in-house career, Dom was a partner in the Supreme Court & Appellate Litigation practice at Hogan Lovells in Washington, D.C. In that capacity Dom argued successfully before the U.S. Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals and wrote the winning briefs in dozens of major appeals and Supreme Court cases. Prior to that role, Dom graduated summa cum laude from NYU School of Law and clerked for the Hon. Sandra L. Lynch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Dom comes from a family that believes in service. His father led anti-poverty and community organizing programs in Connecticut, and later served as an executive at a charitable giving foundation. His mother, an immigrant from Argentina, went back to graduate school in her 40s, achieved a social work masters degree, and spent the rest of her career working with Latino immigrants who needed social services. Dom is proud to follow their example by working with A Sense of Home and other high-impact community organizations.

Dom lives in Manhattan Beach, CA with his wife and three children. In his spare time he coaches and refs youth soccer, plays tennis, gardens, and enjoys reading long, boring history books.
