Cooking Connected

A Sense of Home is delivering groceries to former foster youth and their families.

How it Works

Buy $300 worth of groceries to last one family one month and inspire cooking, meal prepping, and yummy family dinners. Download the shopping list below to get started.

Create a how-to video showcasing your favorite recipe using the ingredients found in the shopping list.

Need inspiration? Check out our family cookbook with specially curated, simple recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and more!

Share your cooking video or a recipe, and challenge others using the hashtag #cookingconnected and tag @asenseofhomeorg for a chance to be featured!

Our Goal

The goal is for the groceries to last one month and for the recipient to learn recipes and cooking skills from the community who share both through social media. Whether they are new recipients or past recipients, we are delivering lifeline essentials to those in need of A Sense of Home. This includes groceries, beds, fridges, stoves, pots and pans, table ware, dining tables and chairs, lamps, bedding, bathroom and hygiene needs, as well as other furniture items, art and area rugs.

We call the grocery delivery “Cooking Connected” as we are also providing recipes and cooking videos to accompany the ingredients/shopping list to ensure these young, vulnerable people feel seen, heard, understood, empowered…and connected.
